Emergency Lesson Plans for a Substitute Teacher
Teachers, you will need to submit an emergency sub plan to Laura Rumage for each class you teach on the first week of classes (and a new lesson plan any time your original plan is used). Emergency lesson plans are used for just that - unforeseen events and emergencies. In the event something occurs late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, you can rest assured that your students will be well taken care of and on target with the course materials. These plans also help the aide who will be substituting in your class that period, ensuring an easy transition for all involved.
Suggested emergency lesson plans:
1. DVDs related to your course material
2. Games, such as Jeopardy, Bingo, etc., that might incorporate basic course or review material
3. Worksheets and handouts related to your course
4. Crossword puzzles, word finds, etc., related to a course topic
5. Team projects and racing games
6. An experiment or two (with all supplies) that might be a nice addition to the subject studied
Each Emergency Lesson Plan must have a Cover Sheet attached (which includes important class information as well as all student names and known medical issues). You may download and print the cover sheet below. If you have multiple components or items in your plan, please enclose everything within a Ziploc bag if at all possible. All plans are kept in a storage container in the supply closet. We greatly appreciate your cooperation here!
Please turn your emergency lesson plan in to Laura Rumage by the first day of your class start date.
